Types of Tributes
GlobalKind provides three types of tributes:
- Basic Tributes – includes text (up to 1000 words), one photo, and an external link
- Photo Tributes – includes text, up to 30 photos, an external link, and a downloadable pdf file
- Multimedia Tributes – includes text, up to 50 photos, an external link, a downloadable pdf file, and up to two audio or video clips
Tributes do not expire and remain on our site for as long as our site exists.
You may also choose a participating Community of Worship to be associated with your GlobalKind Tribute which will then be linked into that community web site for a limited time* and is a financial benefit to them.
There is a one-time publishing fee for each type of tribute. In addition, your tribute might incur additional design fees depending on the scope and the web-ready inputs you provide or that need to be created for you (e.g., if applicable – audio, graphic, text, video) but otherwise there are no additional fees to maintain your tribute.
GlobalKind Tributes are also categorized by geography (currently states within USA) thus making it easier to search for tributes long after first published.
And yes, your GlobalKind Tribute is social media friendly in that your tribute url will never change and comes with a number of links to leading social media sites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter) making it super easy for you to share with family and friends.
We even provide a subscribe to comments email feature that makes it easy to follow your tribute’s comment discussions (note comments are either turned on or off per your preference and when on, they are open for 60-days from date your tribute is first published; comments are also moderated to cut down on spam – all of which is provided at no additional cost).
*GlobalKind Tributes appear on Community of Worship web sites based on a most recent to oldest basis with approximately the 10-20 most recent tributes featured on their site but with links to our tribute archives – all of which means, your tribute will always be easy to find years later after it was first published.
Rates
GlobalKind Tributes are available in three types – the cost* of which is:
- Basic Tribute – $49 per tribute
- Photo Tribute – $169 per tribute
- Multimedia Tribute – $289 per tribute

Other Fees
In addition to the tribute publishing fee other fees include:
- Insertion Fee – $5 per tribute
- Design* – $75 per hour (if applicable)
*Design services include one round of AA’s (author alterations)
Parameters
Tribute Multimedia Formats:
- Text – up to 1000 words, non-formatted text file (e.g., *.txt file and not a wordprocessing file)
- Photos – 72dpi, jpg or png format, maximum size 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high, and a maximum file size no larger than 100k
- Audio – mp3 format, maximum file size of 4 megs*
- Video – flash format, maximum file size of 8 megs*
- Downloadable PDF – 72dpi, Acrobat 4.0 compatible PDF format, and a maximum file size of 2 megs*
- Customer supplies web-ready inputs otherwise Design fees apply
- Design typically takes 5-10 business days
*File limits do not apply if multimedia files are hosted on a 3rd party web hosting service you specify – in which case, we are not responsible for broken links if your 3rd party hosting service changes, moves or deletes your files.
Payment and Terms:
- Credit Cards and Paypal Accepted
- Full payment due in advance
- No refund once tribute is published

Ordering your GlobalKind Tribute is a three step process:
- Step 1 – Request a Quote for Your GlobalKind Tribute
- Step 2 – Accept the Quote and Pay Invoice
- Step 3 – Approve Your Tribute
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I submit my request for tribute quote?
Within 24-48 hours after receiving your GlobalKind Tribute request, we will contact you to confirm the scope and fees involved … At that point you are under no obligation for moving forward … After the total fee has been determined and there is agreement with scope, then you will be emailed an invoice which you have five business days to pay … Once payment is completed, we start to work on your tribute, email you a proof to approve, then publish live after your final approval
Can I change my tribute after it has been published?
Yes. You will be responsible for additional time cost for coding and/or design to make the change(s) …
What do AA’s mean and how does it work?
Author’s Alterations or AA’s are traditional concepts of working with clients whereby the client (author) can make one round of changes to first proof, after the second proof any more changes incur additional design time and will incur additional fees … This is why it is important to identify the scope of work up front and provide as many elements as near-ready as possible … The way it works with GlobalKind Tributes is that you tell us what you want, we produce your tribute proof and present it to you, and you can make one round of changes to that proof … After the second proof any other changes incur additional design time for the extra AA’s …
Which graphic format is better – png or jpg?
Typically photographic designs are better as jpg with a medium compression circa 60-70% whereas png format is great for designs that are more line-art and type centric … Sometimes you have to try both formats to see which format ultimately gives you the best visual performance at the smallest file size … Also do not forget to “unsharpened” your final design before saving your web-ready images – this can help bring a bit of snap back to your design, especially if you started with a much larger canvas and saved your image to a smaller format as last step …
How long does my tribute stay online?
For as long as our site exits … If linked to a Community of Worship, your tribute will be featured on that site on a most recent to oldest basis, with approximately 10-20 most recent tributes featured on their site but with links to our tribute archives, so your tribute will always be easy to find
Do I have to select a Community of Worship?
If you select a Community of Worship to be associated with your GlobalKind Tribute then not only do they benefit financially, but your tribute also appears on their site when first published for a limited time … But no, you do not have to choose one
What about geography – do I have to pick one?
Tributes are currently categorized by states within the USA or assigned a geographic category title of “zz-Other” … The geographical location should correspond to either the Community of Worship, place of birth, death, favorite growing-up area, and/or other meaningful geographical category that helps others locate your tribute long after it has been published
Do I have to be related to the tributee?
No – you can be part of a group (e.g., co-workers), a family member, guardian or trustee, friend, fan, other – provided you truthfully warrant factualness and copyright compliance per the terms and conditions set forth on this site
How do comments work and do they cost extra?
Comments can be enabled on your tribute for the first 60-days at no additional cost to you. All comments are moderated for SPAM before appearing on your tribute. You retain the right to remove any comment you deem inappropriate but once deleted, said comment(s) cannot be retrieved. Comments are open to the public and people can subscribe to your tribute’s comment thread for free thereby making it easy to follow the thread of comments. They can also use social media links to quickly share your tribute on several of the leading social media sites
What does it mean to have a tribute related to other tributes?
At the bottom of your tribute, we can include a “Related Tributes” list of links to other GlobalKind Tributes that are related to yours – e.g., a family might create a tribute for a husband, his co-workers might create another one, and his bowling team a third one – all of which we can include as links as related tributes that follow the ending of your tribute
Who gets my money?
You pay GlobalKind, and we share tribute revenues with the Community of Worship who’s web site you elect to have your GlobalKind Tribute appear on … GlobalKind is owned by The Avanti Group, Inc., and Avanti’s payment gateway and technology is provided by CoolTea.com … CoolTea is also a registered trademark of The Avanti Group, Inc.
Is my tribute fee tax deductible?
You cannot claim a portion of your tribute fee as a non-profit 501c3 tax deduction to a Community of Worship … Your tribute provides you benefits and typically donations to nonprofit 501c3 organizations, like Churches, are just that – donations sans benefits … You do get the double benefit of knowing you helped provide financial support for Communities of Worship while enjoying the legacy celebration of loved ones … Note: this is not to be considered advice and we always recommend you check with tax experts and your business advisors whenever it comes to accounting and taxes …
